Akwa United unveils new coaches

….. Signs 15 players

Akwa United on Monday unveiled John Sam Obuh and Duke Udi as new head coaches and assistant ahead of new Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL season.

The Promise Keepers also displayed their newly acquired 15 players at the unveiling ceremony held at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo.

The 2017 Aiteo Cup champions used the moments to displayed their new Owu Kits for the season.

Some of the newly signed players for the season include Dare Ojo and Samuel Mathias who joined from Lobi Stars, former NPFL’s top scorer Akarandut Orok who returned to Nigeria after long stay abroad, Ifeanyi Ifeanyi also rejoined the team after his short stint in Tunisia and Philip David.

Others are Itodo Ako, Sampson Gbadebo, Ekemini Ukoebe, Bassey Akpan, hristian Ekong, Maurice Chukwu, Adewale Adeyinka, Ali Chiwendu, Ubong Friday and Michael Ohanu.

Akwa United finished fourth in last season’s NPFL playoffs.

The Uyo based club would kickoff their new season with a game against newly promoted Warri Wolves
