Dominic Iorfa Jnr: Experienced defender gives conditions to new Sheffield Wednesday deal

It looks more certain that highly-rated defender, Dominic Iorfa will be extending his stay at the League One side, Sheffield Wednesday but until the club adjusts to some of his contracture conditions.
The 26-year-old centre back has been in fine form for the Owls this season after returning from injury with impressive performances he put in the Carabao Cup and the league so far.

The Nigerian born Iorfa is having one year left on his current contract with some clubs already having him on their watchlist this summer looking at his pedigree but he’s interested in staying with Sheffield.

That will have to come to pass if the club alters some of the clauses added to the new contract offered.
There are some conditions that did not go down well with the defender who has become one of the cult heroes for the Owls.

Speaking over the development, Dominic’s father, Dominic Iorfa Snr told newsmen that he wished his son to continue his career with the Owls but described the conditions for the new deal offered by Sheffield as ridiculous.

“It’s ridiculous and I find it insulting, he (Dominic Jnr) has served the club so well and he’s still giving his best which he joined from Wolverhampton Wanderers F.C., in the 2019/2020 January transfer window and ended up third best player of the team and winning best player of the year award of the club in 2020/2021 season, I don’t think such conditions are necessary.

“Yes, he’d love to play on for Sheffield, he likes it there and he’s happy with the town, the fans have shown him so much love and he would want to continue to be part of their family, but the present situation may have to make him rethink and may not extend the contract until the clause/condition of the offers are been taken care of
