Kwara United on Wednesday afternoon, January 13, had a disappointing day at home as Akwa United forced the Harmony Boys to a 1-1 draw in NPFL week 4 encounter.

Abdullahi Biffo and his men went into this game against Akwa United with the hope of winning it having lost in Port Harcourt against Rivers United.

United started the match aggressively with the duo of Alao Dabani and Michael Ohanu firing in all cylinders up front for Kwara United.

The Harmony Boys had the first chance to score in the 14th minute through Alao Dabani whose header almost entered the net after connecting with a superb corner kick by Kamaru Sikiru.

Ten minutes later, Taiwo Salaudeen made a fantastic cross in which Michael Ohanu headed over the bar in what would have been the first goal for Kwara United.

Akwa United had their first chance in the 31st minute through Ubong Essien who failed to beat Kwara United goalie Lateef.

The first half however ended goalless with both teams finding it difficult to find the back of the net.

Biffo decided to bring on Gata and Steven Jude in the second half for Joshua Agboola and Dabani and these two players changed the game for Kwara United.

Kwara United got their goal in the 60th minute via a penalty scored by Christopher Nwanze after Gata was brought down by Wilson Elu.

Twelve minutes later, Christopher Nwanze failed to clear a cross thereby heading it into his own net to give Akwa United the equalizer at the Kwara state stadium, Ilorin.

Kwara United players tried their best to get the winning goal against Akwa United, but the visitors were so lucky not to have conceded as the match ended in 1-1 draw.

Abdullahi Biffo and his men will be traveling to Kaduna for their next NPFL game against Jigawa Golden Stars which will be played on Sunday, January 17.
