Dino Sporting Club CEO, Samuel Columbus Omomafe on Saturday received an award of excellence from the Ogun State Football Association.

According to the OGSFA led by board member of Nigeria Football Federation, Alhaji Ganiyu Majekodunmi, the recognition came as a result of the Dino SC boss’ immense contributions to the development football in the state and country at large.

Mr Omomafe, a seasoned grassroot football administration is known for his dedication and passion to the round leather game.

He has organized various grassroot football competition for youngsters all over the state, with international scouts in attendance.

He has also helped many players achieved their dream of playing professional football at any club of their choice in Europe.

“I’m really happy and honored to receive this awar,”

“Sometimes I’m a bit shy, but I’m really happy to do what I can do for my people to make things better and also contribute my qouta to the growth of these players and football at large,

“To be recognized by the FA means we are doing something right, and I can assure you, we won’t rest on our oars.” He said.

He presides over Dino Sporting Club, one of the fastest rising football clubs in Nigeria, and the current Creative Championship League Cup holders.

The Club is also rated as the 2nd best in the Creative Championship League, behind Beyond Limits.

JC International Coaches Academy on Thursday signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Ogun State Football Association.

The partnership is aimed at developing grassroot coaches, as well as train and retrain the instructors in getting inclined with modern day coaching techniques.

Present at the occasion which held at the Ogun State FA Secretariat in Abeokuta were Ogun FA Boss and NFF Executive Board Member, Alhaji Ganiyu Majekodunmi, his vice, Alhaji Nojeem Lasisi, and Technical Chairman of Ogun State FA, Dr Bayo Fatoki.

Also in attendance were Representatives JC International Academy; Representatives of Ogun State Coaches Association and; other stakeholders.

In the full glare, all parties involved put pen to paper to activate the project which is expected to last for many years.

Speaking at the event, Chairman of OGSFA, Alhaji Ganiyu Majekodunmi stated that the development is a welcome idea, which prompted the FA to give organizers its backing, even as he charged the organisers to ensure best global practices are maintained during the exercise.

“One of my happiest days as a football administrator. I brainstormed on the MoU and I can tell you this is good and developmental. Interestingly, Dr Joseph Ogunsanya is a brother to Victor Ogunsanya, former Abiola babes defender. This is a big opportunity for us because government cannot do it alone. We thank you for this privilege. I want to assure you that it has come to stay for life. Football is progressing in Ogun State with many academies springing up. I will personally take this programme to NFF and possibly it can be introduced at the national level. I assure you of my outmost support. This can even go beyond football. On behalf of Ogun State government, I thank you very much for this opportunity. I’m giving it 100 percent support.”

Earlier, Chief Executive Officer,JC International Academy, Dr Joseph Ogunsanya thanked the OGSFA for its support and promised that the organisation will do its best with the help of its technical partners and all involved to have a successful programme.

“We want to develop coaches for ogun State by using the modern methodology. Concussion training is one of the things we want to imbibe in the coaches. Coaching interview and how to market players to overseas is also another aspect we are looking into. So, in all, it’s about educating and exposing the coaches to the modern techniques of the trades. The training will be for seven days and there are facilities and accomodations available for the interested coaches”

On his part, CAF And NFF instructor, Hakeem Busari, who doubles as technical director of JCI Academy said, the MoU is a game changer for grassroot coaches in Ogun State.

“This is the first time an FA will be signing an MOU if this nature. We need coach institute. We using JC international to improve all these. You need a database of coaches for easy assessment for coaches clinic. We want to develop coaches in Ogun State through best global practices. We hope we can build a good relationship that will germinate into development.” He concluded.

Nigeria Football Association (NFF) says the country’s youth football will get to greater heights as our local coaches will tap in from the expertise shared at the football coaching clinic organised by Berackiah International and Abigol Football Management.

The Clinic which has been Integrated by the Nationwide League One (NLO) and aim to train, educate and develop Nigeria Coaches commenced at the Otunba Dipo Dina International Stadium in Ijebu-Ode,Ogun State.

Chairman Ogun State Football Association and NFF Executive Committee Member, Alhaji Ganiyu Majekodunmi who spoke on behalf of NFF First Vice-President Barrister Seyi and Chairman Nationwide League One, Alhaji Mohammed Alkali, pointed out the importance of the coaching clinic while stressing that gaining more knowledge should be paramount on the minds of the participants.

According to Majekodunmi: “We are very proud to have partnered with Nigeria Football Coaches Association and Berackiah/Abigol on this coaching clinic. The clinic is very good for Nigeria’s football. The NLO as a body is very committed to improving the league and as such will go the extra mile to ensuring capacity-building events like this holds regularly with support from Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Technical Department.

“The coaching clinic will be on technical football session to facilitate knowledge for our local coaches and to develop the quality of the Nationwide League One. We are confident that this will significantly improve the technical expertise of our local coaches.

“The clinic will equip our football coaches with the tactical knowledge and skills needed to succeed in the game and improve the overall quality of the Nationwide League One. I’m proud to say that the course content is very rich and encompassing and the resource persons are top notch from Italy and local content will be handled by Nigerian best instructors.

“Youth development is the future of football. We are committed to developing capacity at the grassroots level, with the Berackiah/Abigol Coaching Clinic, we’ll get the desired results. We will continue to collaborate with our partners, in ways to develop our football and our league.”

The clinic was boosted with the arrival of UEFA accredited top Italian football coaches, Roberto Bassi, Gian Marco Duina and Nigeria’s Matthew Olorunleke, who are the foreign resource persons while the local content will be handled by Nigeria’s best instructors, Chief Adegboyega Onigbinde, Siji Olagunju.

The Berackiah/Abigol Coaching Clinic is scheduled to hold across the country as thus; South West Zone began in Ijebu Ode, Ogun State from 25-29th of January.

South South and South East Zone holds in Asaba, Delta State from 1st-5th of February.

North Central and North East Zone holds in Lafia, Nasarawa State from 8th-12th February.
