Former Kwara United handler Abdullahi Biffo has paid for three Kwara coaches to acquire more knowledge at the Nigeria Institute for Sports, NIS to help their careers in coaching.

This is not the first time Biffo will be doing this, as it will be recalled that he also sponsored 3 Kwara coaches to NIS in March 2021.

Salaudeen Adeyinka (Keshi) from Offa, Olododo Muhammad and Jimoh Abdulkadri (Kado) are the 3 Kwara coaches picked by their association in the State to benefit from Biffo’s latest sporting gesture.

Interestingly, Kado who is currently the head coach of Abraysport was also sponsored to study Basic at NIS by Biffo, but this time around, the Ilorin born coach will be going for 1 year Advance coaching course which will begin in January 2023.

Keshi and Olododo on the other hand have started their Basic courses at the National Institute for Sports (NIS) at the National Stadium, Lagos.

Speaking on this gesture, Biffo urged the 3 coaches picked by their Association in Kwara to be good ambassadors of the State stressing that he will continue to do his best to help younger coaches to grow.

“I just want to urge them to come out in flying colours at the NIS and I wish them and other coaches success in their careers. I will continue to do my best for the development of football and sports in general in my state (Kwara).” Biffo explained to award winning Sports Journalist Ibitoye Shittu.

Biffo’s 3-year contract as coach of Kwara United expired at the end of last NPFL season in which the Harmony Boys got continental ticket.

He was in charge of the team for 32 games last season before he traveled to America for urgent medical treatment, and in his absence, coach Lukman Ijaiya and coach Mukaila Iyala took charge thanks to Audu Mohammed who assisted them from the innerdoors.

Coach Audu was later named as the replacement for Biffo and was in charge of Kwara United’s campaign in the 2022 CAF Confederations Cup.

Biffo also remains the Coach with the highest number of away wins in a season at Kwara United which was 4 which he got in the 2020/21 NPFL season.

The former Katsina United and Abia Warriors’ gaffer also set unbeaten home record in the NPFL while in charge of Kwara United.

Biffo who has CAF B and UEFA B is still in the United States.

“We are struggling psychologically” Biffo laments as Kwara United drops points at home https://www.onwardnews24.com/we-are-struggling-psychologically-biffo-laments-as-kwara-united-drops-points-at-home/ https://www.onwardnews24.com/we-are-struggling-psychologically-biffo-laments-as-kwara-united-drops-points-at-home/#respond Thu, 21 Apr 2022 11:00:51 +0000 https://www.onwardnews24.com/?p=6675 Coach Abdullahi Biffo has ascribed Kwara United’s recent struggles to a challenge that may be traced to poor mental capacity,  describing the 1-1 draw against Abia Warriors in Ilorin as a setback.
Biffo spoke on the back of three league games without a win before Kwara United engaged Abia Warriors on Wednesday afternoon in one of the MatchDay 24 fixtures of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).
“We are struggling psychologically at the moment because we haven’t got the needed results in our last four games. The players are struggling but it’s left for us the coaches to find the right approaches to come back from this temporary let down”, Biffo told www.npfl.ng after the match.

“It’s really challenging because we’ve failed to deal with teams ahead of us though hard luck has also been a factor during this period but we are very optimistic that we will come back better”, Biffo concluded.

Both teams had filed out with purpose of intent as seen in the opening fifteen minutes of the match.

The first real chance at goal came after 20 minutes when Fatokun found Alao Danbani with a delightful pass but the striker missed a sitter. Moments later, Abia Warriors Anumudu found space down the left but his effort was saved by Iwu in goal for Kwara.

Kwara United nearly took the lead just past the half hour mark when Samuel Bamidele’s effort from a freekick clipped the right post. Just when it seemed the half was drawing to a close, Danbani found Samuel Tiza who finished past Edafe Vincent to give his side the advantage going into the break.

The opening five minutes of the restart was action filled. Afeez Nosiru earned a yellow for a reckless challenge on Valentine Odoh followed by a double substitution by the Harmony Boys with the duo of Samad Kadiri and Ayobami Junior replacing Junior Lokosa and Chisom Emmanuel respectively.

Moments later, Abia Warriors got the equaliser when Godwin Obaje’s Inviting cross from the right found Odoh whose volley could not be cleared on time leaving referee Buhari Bawa to rule that the ball had crossed the line.

Despite retaining the top spot on the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) table after a one-all draw with Wikki Tourists, Coach Abdullahi Biffo of Kwara United FC believes his team is still an underdog in the title race this season.

Speaking to newsmen after Kwara United FC forced Wikki Tourists to a draw in the crucial encounter decided at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium this evening, Coach Biffo commended his boys for sharing the spoils with the Giant Elephants.

He said that his team will continue to fight until the last whistle of the season, irrespective of the toughness of the challenges in the system.

The homers, who enjoyed a larger percentage of possession throughout the encounter, scored their goal in the 38th minutes through Chinedu Udeagha, who converted from the charity spot, after their attacker was fouled in the box.

Wikki Tourists underscored their determination to win the game by creating several chances that kept goalkeeper Dele Aiyenugba absolutely busy throughout the game.

Kwara United had a clear chance of taking the lead minutes before conceeding the goal, when rampaging Michael Ohanu found an unmarked Stephen Jude in the box, but Wkki Tourists had goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali to thank for saving his goal bound shot.

He also stopped Jude’s low header on the goal line minutes later, to ensure Wikki Tourists ran away with the goal advantage at interval.

Kwara United introduced Olawale Farayola and Kalu Nweke, both of whom replaced Wasiu Alalade and Kamaldeen Sikiru respectively, in the 58th minute, and the changes raised the stakes for Kwara United, as they stepped up their search for an equalizer.

Coach Abdullahi Biffo completed his changes in the 72nd minute, bringing in the trio of Alao Danbani, who replaced Ohanu, Murtala Lawal, who replaced Mohammed Aliyu, and Jibola Adeleke, who replaced Stephen Jude, and also made his introduction count, scoring the equalizer in his first touch, in the 83rd minute.

The Club’s Secretary, Mallam Hamidu Olowo, who led the team to Bauchi commended the players and the technical crew members, for rising up to the challenges, especially, when it mattered most.

Mallam Olowo, who motivated the players for their efforts, challenged them not to relent, as there are more matches ahead in the season.

Kwara United FC will host Heartland FC of Owerri in their next fixture next Sunday in Ilorin.
