Dino Sporting Club CEO, Samuel Columbus Omomafe on Saturday received an award of excellence from the Ogun State Football Association.

According to the OGSFA led by board member of Nigeria Football Federation, Alhaji Ganiyu Majekodunmi, the recognition came as a result of the Dino SC boss’ immense contributions to the development football in the state and country at large.

Mr Omomafe, a seasoned grassroot football administration is known for his dedication and passion to the round leather game.

He has organized various grassroot football competition for youngsters all over the state, with international scouts in attendance.

He has also helped many players achieved their dream of playing professional football at any club of their choice in Europe.

“I’m really happy and honored to receive this awar,”

“Sometimes I’m a bit shy, but I’m really happy to do what I can do for my people to make things better and also contribute my qouta to the growth of these players and football at large,

“To be recognized by the FA means we are doing something right, and I can assure you, we won’t rest on our oars.” He said.

He presides over Dino Sporting Club, one of the fastest rising football clubs in Nigeria, and the current Creative Championship League Cup holders.

The Club is also rated as the 2nd best in the Creative Championship League, behind Beyond Limits.

The Creative Championship regular football season has ended with Beyond Limits winning the league and Dino Sporting Club claiming the Cup.

But the memories of the just concluded season would continue to linger on, notably for clubs like Dino SC.

The young team assembled by Coach Godwin Gibson started the regular season on a low but picked themselves up through it and became a strong contenders for the title.

The Boys of Samuel Columbus were among the best teams both in the TCC League and the Cup competition.

Dino SC made a remarkable history in the just concluded season with memorable statistics.

They recorded more away wins (6) in the just concluded Creative Championship League, same with the eventual league winners, Beyond Limits and Dannaz FC.

Dino only dropped six points at home which translated to three home draws in the regular season.

Coach Godwin Gibson is looking forward to another exciting season with Dino as he expect to build a more stronger team that can compete and wrestle the title with Beyond Limits.

Dino Sporting Club finished the TCC League second with 34 points, eleven behind the winners Beyond Limits.

They would then gone on to win the TCC Cup by beating Beyond Limits 2-1 in the final, even with ten men.

A goal in each half from Ikechukwu Friday and Okiemute Adagharagba ensured Dino Sporting Club defeated Dannaz FC by 2-0 on Sunday and will see them finish the Creative Championship, TCC League as runners up for second successive season.

The victory at the Legacy Pitch in Lagos capped a brilliant season for Dino who had experienced a difficult start to the TCC League but rallied to went eight and five unbeaten at different occasions.

The last time both sides met Dannaz stole the win with a 1-0 result.
Dino returned the favor this time and picked the important three points to finish second place, behind back to back champions, Beyond Limits.

Coach Gibson’s side will remember this one as memorable one where they climbed out of the ‘trenches’ and roared their way to the top.

With a game to spare, Dino won’t mind to bother on the fixture following the victory at Dannaz as they already have 34 points, one above Gbagada FC who have completed their season on Saturday following a 1-1 draw at Atlantic Business.

Dino SC narrowly missed out on the title after they were beaten 3-2 by TCC Cup finalists, Gbagada FC on the final day of the season.

Speaking after the game, the seasoned administrator said, he’s satisfied with the performance of the boys and vowed to give young more platforms to showcase their talents to the world.

“It was a good tournament, the boys did pretty well, although I believe we have chances finished first and win the title, but overall I’m happy with their performance “

” Our aim as a club is to develop these youngsters and give them platform to shine, we will continue to do that, hopefully they will go on to achieve big things in their career. “

Dino SC finished second with 26 points, just two behind eventual champions Remo Stars Academy and one point above Valiant FC who themselves finished third.

Dino Sporting Club defeated defeated Iganmu United 2-0 in the match day 13 of the 2020-2021 Creative league championship at the Otunba Dipo Dina Stadium in Ijebu Ode o Sunday.

Dino Sporting went into the match at the back of their midweek cup defeat to Remo Stars, but they just enough to bounce back to winning ways.

Afolayan Temitope scored the opening goal of the game in the 18 minutes of the encounter, before Oscar Bless added the second two minutes after half hour mark.

The Samuel Columbus Boys were unable to added to the tally in the second half, but they did well to stop their visitors from reducing the deficit.

The three points moved Dino Sporting Club moved to second on the log, just a point behind Remo Stars with 27 points.

Meanwhile Dino Sporting Club’s Afolayan Peters did enough to earn the man of the match award.

High flying Dino Sporting Club defeated visitors Ijebu United in match day eleven of the ongoing 2020-2021 Creative championship on Saturday.

The match was played at Otunba Dipo Dina Stadium in Ijebu Ode and the hosts dug deep to secure 1-0 win over stubborn visitors.

Talisman Elijah Adekunle scored the only goal of the game in the first half of the encounter to secure the maximum points.

The three points however moved Dino SC to just one point within league leaders, Remo Stars Academy who themselves came back from a 2 goal deficit to earn a point against Imperial FC on Friday.

Dino Sporting Club have garnered 23 points from twelve matches.

The match way played at the Otunba Dipo Dina stadium in Ijebu Ode on Sunday.

The Samuel Columbus boys went into the game at the back of their 7 – 0 trashing of Imperial FC last weekend.

The match witnessed very few clear cut chances in the first half as the visitors decided to sit to absorb the pressure and hope to hit on counter attack.

Dino Sporting dominated possession but only managed to break the deadlock in the 57th minutes of the encounter, through Seun Salahu.

The match however took another turn as Dino Sporting Club were reduced to ten man with last weekend hat-trick hero Okoro Hyacinth was send off for two bookable fouls.

The capitalised on their numerical advantage and restored parity two minutes after an hour mark through Afeez Babatunde.

Dino Sporting Club pressed for the winner but they failed to break the resistance of Valliant FC before the final whistle.

The draw moved Dino SC to third on log with 11 points, four points behind Valiant FC but with a game in hand.

The match was played at the Otunba Dipo Dina stadium in Ijebu ode on Sunday and Dino went into the game at the back of their 2 – 0 away win over Emmydinho football club of Lagos.

Dino started like house on fire against visiting Gbagada FC, dominated, created numerous scoring opportunities, but they were let down by poor finishing in front of goal.

Elijah Adekunle who scored a brace in the previous game against Emmydinho, had the first real opportunity of the match, but he failed to hit the with his effort.

Another chance fell to Ezekiel Ahamefula and again the exciting youngster failed convert the opportunity from close range.

The team continued to search for the all important breakthrough in the second half, again, the bench watched in agony as Fabrice Konin and Hyacinth Ogonna wasted the golden opportunities in quick succession.

The club searched in vain for the opener, but Gbagada FC defended well for later part of the game to deny them more sight at goal.

The club however will be hoping to find their potency in front of goal when they take on Iganmu Football Club in next match.
