Hon Sherrif promised to uphold the party’s core values which is to let the people in the grassroots enjoy the benefits of democracy.

“My appreciation message goes to the Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, Deputy Governor Engr. Noimat Salako-Oyedele, all the great leaders of our party at the state, local govt, ward levels and the good people of Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area.

“I am grateful for this great opportunity, for the love shown to have bestowed upon me the chance to emerge as the party candidate for the forthcoming chairmanship election.

“I promise to justify the choice of choosing me for the responsibility which is to let an average person from Ado-Odo Ota LGA feels the positive side of democracy.

He continues by saying that this is call to serve his people and pledge to be a good ambassador of the APC and Ado-Odo/Ota.

“I take this as a call to serve and defend the good people of Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government and I’m using this appreciation message to pledge my 100 percent commitment to the development of the gateway to Gateway State.

“This victory is for all the aspirants and our great party, a call to collectively take our dear local government to another greater heights.

“I thereby call on the stakeholders and the good people of Ado-Odo/Ota to rally round us to clinch the victory so as to fulfil our promises and bring dividend of democracy down to them, so help us God.”

While receiving the materials on Thursday in Lokoja, the Commissioner, Mallam Mamman Nda Eri said receipt of the materials was a demonstration of the commission’s readiness for the election.

He said sorting of the materials would begin on Friday to determine the what goes to each polling units, wards and Local Government Area, adding that the exercise would be witnessed by all stakeholders, including all political parties, the Inter Party Advisory Council (IPAC), the political parties, security agencies among others.

The Commissioner who assured of security of the materials, he said the commission has beeefed up its security architecture, saying if the materials were received before now, they would have kept them either with the police or any of the banks.

Mallam Nda who assured the people of the state of a fair and credible elections, assured them that they were working round the clock and doing all they can to ensure acceptable polls on Saturday.

Speaking, Kogi State Commissioner of Police, Ayuba Ede who was represented by a Deputy Superintendent of Police, Elvis Aguebor said the police was ready to ensure safety of lives, property and the election materials.

The Commissioner warned against any form of distabilisation, saying his men would not hesitate to enforce the law and protect the electioneering process if anyone tries to attack the process.

He however assured the public that the exercise would be hitch free, especially given that memoranda were signed between the police and other stakeholders and politicians, for the peace of the election.

Respondents who were present during the receipt of the materials including the State Chairman of Inter Party Advisory Council, Hon Iliyas Badanga also gave kudos to the SIEC for its topnotch preparedness and expressed hope that the outcome of the election would meet the satisfaction of all.

Other respondents who spoke in the same direction, applauded the election umpire for the manner of preparation and transparency, and expressed hope for a successful election.

Mr Siyaka stated this while addressing youths of the party in his lokoja residence after receiving his certificate of return to run for the council election. He stated emphatically that; “there is no substitute for peace, as only a peaceful coexistence can spur business to thrive in our community”.

He expressed his readiness to close ranks with the youths, women, and all stakeholders in okehi to forge a common pathway to a lasting viable economy within Okehi LG.

“ I will definitely work with everybody if I’m elected the council boss. My office will be open to everyone. It’s a collective effort to make Okehi great”, Hon Siyaka stated.

Okehi PDP Youths, on their part, reiterated their commitment to ensure that they take the campaigns to every nuke and craning of local government area to ensure victory at the polls.

In conclusion, they called on his excellency, Alhaji Yaha Bello to ensure a free level playing ground for all political parties in the fort coming council polls so as to ensure that the will of the people prevail at the polls.
