Kwara State Super league final between La Planet Sports Academia and Stallion FC will hold on Thursday 20th of May, 2021.

The final match which will hold at the Kwara State Stadium Complex is billed to commence at 4pm.

Mallam Idris Abdullahi Musa Thuraya ,the Chairman of Kwara State Football Association is expected to lead other dignitaries to the event.

Recall that the preliminaries and advance stages of the tournament organised by the Kwara State Football Association
has been concluded.

Over 50 teams participated in the championship and the winner between the finalists will qualify to take part in the NLO play off scheduled to kick off in June.

A delegation of the Kwara state football Association on Tuesday visited His Royal Highness, emir of Ilorin, Alh. Ibrahim Zulu Gambari to pay homage and presented Sport kits to the traditional ruler.

Led by the chairman of the Association, Malam Idris Abdullahi Musa Thuraya, who eulogises the Emir for his steadfast cooperation with his board as parts of efforts to ensure that growth of football continue to be on the rise.

Malam Musa stated that the Royal blessing of his Royal Highness has been instrumental to his stint in office and reinstated the need to continue to seek guidance and prayers to assist the FA towards it’s activities.

The chairman gave a brief summary of what his board has done since coming on board and presented a complete sports kit to his Royal Highness.

In his response, the Emir of Ilorin, Alh. Ibrahim Zulu Gambari, a one-time Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) vice-president, commended the leadership of the FA for it’s swift actions in repositioning football governance in Kwara and reaffirmed his committments to football matters.

His Royal Highness, similarly charge the football executives to be diligent in their activities and make the interest of the state Paramount while discharging the duties while praying that the chairman and his board members will reach the Pinnacle of their chosen path.

Others present at the occasion were, Alhaja Segilola Alaya ( FA Board member), Kashim Agaka (FA, Secretary) among others.

Kwara football stakeholders has commended the state Governor, Mallam AbndulRahman AbdulRazaq on his efforts and foresight of in ensuring that Kwara United Football Club plays in the elite season as against the second tier system, even as they also praised him for his support to the club so far.


The commendation was contained in an 11-points communiqué drawn at the end of the well attended Kwara FA stakeholders meeting, held at the Main-Bowl of the Kwara State Stadium Complex, in full compliance with the Covid-19 protocols.
In his opening address, the Chairman of Kwara FA, Alhaji Idris Abdullahi Musa said that the meeting was held to discuss the future of the league, in the aftermath of the cancellation of the 2019/2020 season by the NFF, and to ensure that stakeholders adhere to the Covid-19 measures on football matters.


The communiqué added that: Following the cancellation of the 2019/2020 season after Matchday 25, and deciding final placements on Points Per Game (PPG) table to rank the teams in order to ensure sporting merit and sporting fairness, and with no promotion to, or relegation from NPFL for the season, we charged the management of Kwara United FC to commence preparation in earnest, for the start of the new season fixed for September/October 2020, tentatively.
The stakeholders were also praised for their show of sportsmanship and concern in the just concluded season, charging them to up their support for Kwara United FC, to justify the commitment of the government.


The stakeholders commended the government and management for ensuring that salaries are being paid as at when due, especially at the crucial period of the Covid-19 pandemic. It also recalled the praise heaped on the government and the management by the National President of the National Association of Nigeria Professional Footballers (NANPF), Tijjani Babangida.


They charged the management to set their priorities right to avoid the shortcomings of the just concluded season apparently caused by the transition from Delta force take over,  by signing only players that can deliver the much desired Continental ticket at the end of the season.
The meeting charged other clubs in the state to ensure early and adequate preparations for the season to ensure they gain promotions at the end of the season, and to give priority to indigenous players as well as upcoming coaches to gain experience and improve their potentials.
The kwara FA were commended for their achievements in one year in office and charged them to reinvigorate their efforts at fishing out exceptional young talents from the grassroots. They were also charged to do more on the development of female football in the state, to improve on the successes already attained.


The stakeholders harped on the need to review grassroots development strategies, so as to create a ladder of growth for the talents discovered. They also charged Kwara United and other league clubs in the state to create additional exposure platform for the players.
They concluded by charging Football councils to ensure and enforce compliance with NFF directive on the ban of football activities across the country owing to the Covid-19 pandemic.
