Abdulgafar Opeyemi who can play as an attacking midfielder and at the right side of the midfield was instrumental and influential to Kauno Zalgaris qualification to the Europa League.

The 20 years old right footed midfielder is the cynosure of all eyes in the Lithuania League making a mark for himself as one of the bright prospect in the A Lyga.

Kauno Zalgaris finished as the second best team in the Lithuania A Lyga with 63 points from 36 matches and scored a total of 55 goals and conceded 37 goals.

La Planet Sports Academia has qualified for the semi-final of the ongoing Kwara U-17 Youth league after defeating Kwara Football Academy (KFA) 2-1 in their last group stage games.

KFA enjoyed some dominance in the game in the first half with  Abubakar Garba’s wondrous strike stamping their stability on the scoreline.

Ibrahim Alonge was the hero for La Planet when he came on as a substitute in the second half to grab a brace – pushing Coach Sheriff Jimoh’s side to the safest side of the game.

Reacting to the victory, Coach Sheriff applauded his lads for their positive attitude and mentality which earned the deserved victory.

“I am very happy and proud of my boys.They gave a good account of themselves and I am confident that we are going to win this trophy”. Said the gaffer.

La Planet will face either Abraysports FC or Aromokeye FC in the semi-final clash of the league.

La Planet Sport Academia has emerged the champions of the Kwara State Football Association Super league after defeating
Stallion FC 2-0 on Thursday.

Goals from Obagbemiro Emmanuel and Oladele Abiodun in each half of the game was enough for La Planet to crown their impressive performance in the competition.

The final match which held at the Kwara State Stadium Complex was yet another manifestation of talents that abound in Kwara State coupled with the drive of the State football association to develop football at the grassroots level.

Among the dignitaries at the event were Mallam Idris Abdullahi Musa Thuraya ,the Chairman of Kwara State Football Association, Hon. Gbenga Yusuf; member Kwara State House of Assembly,  ABS Ilorin FC Director of Football; Chief Alloy Chukwuemeka, General Manager of Kwara United FC, Mallam Bashir Badawiy and a host of others.

Over 50 teams registered for the championship and La Planet with their victory has now qualified to take part in the NLO play off in a yet to be announced date.

Kwara State Super league final between La Planet Sports Academia and Stallion FC will hold on Thursday 20th of May, 2021.

The final match which will hold at the Kwara State Stadium Complex is billed to commence at 4pm.

Mallam Idris Abdullahi Musa Thuraya ,the Chairman of Kwara State Football Association is expected to lead other dignitaries to the event.

Recall that the preliminaries and advance stages of the tournament organised by the Kwara State Football Association
has been concluded.

Over 50 teams participated in the championship and the winner between the finalists will qualify to take part in the NLO play off scheduled to kick off in June.

AbraySport FC (Super Pioneer) are through to the final of the AlyufSalam Football Competition following a 1-0 victory over Nipost (LA Planet Sport Academia).

The only goal of the tournament was scored by Bode Solabi in the 33rd minute by shooting a strike from outside the box.

Despite the goal, both teams struggled to perform to expectation with chances hard to come by in the game.

Super Pioneer held on to the slim advantage and ended the first half with a goal ahead.

In the second period, LA Planet was the better side doing everything to draw level but the Black and Yellow Army was up to the task.

Super Pioneer had a chance to double the lead but Ayanda Toluwase’s strike was stopped by Musa Usman.

Despite the pressure from Nipost, AbraySport held to the important victory and make it to the final of the tournament.

The team’s playing in the tournament has their name changed to honour the founding teams in Kwara State which have gone into extinction

La Planets Sports Academia have emerged champions of the AGF Memorial Cup after defeating Harmony FC 1 nil in the grand finale of the tournament.

Afeez Ajao’s cool strike in the 28th minutes was enough for the Coach Paul Mohammed led side to win the coveted trophy organised in the memory of  AGF Abdulrazaq,the father of the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq.

Harmony FC with their lackluster were not in their  best form in the match as they struggle to create goal chances and match up with thier opponent’s drive.

In his remarks,the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Dr. Ibrahim Zulu Gambari CFR who was represented by Daudu of Faagba, Alhaji Suleiman Alabi applauded the organizers of the tournament for the initiative.

While praying to Almighty Allah to repose the soul of AGF Abdulrazaq, he described  the football competition as one of the best way of reminiscing the his positive impact and legacy as the first lawyer from the Northern Nigeria whose immense contributions to development of Ilorin Emirate,Kwara State and Nigeria will forever be cherished.

Speaking after the game,Coach Paul Mohammmed of La Planet lauded his boys for their performance even as he noted the need for improvement upon the background of their wastefulness in front of goal.

La Planet Sport Academia midfielder, Abdulgafar Opeyemi has completed his first training session with his new Lithuania club side, FK Kauno Zalgiris ahead of the upcoming A LYGA season.

The young midfielder was scouted by the coach of the club, Rokas Garastas during a scouting event held in Ilorin in January 2020.

Opeyemi, 19, is a creative midfielder who has great vision and the ability to unlock the opponent’s defense line with his passes.
