…Hails Remo’s fighting spirit

Chief Executive Officer of Monimichelle Group, Ebi Egbe says he sees Rivers United, Plateau United and Kwara United making it to the group stage of the CAF club competitions.

Though the trio are pitted against very strong North African opponents in the next round of the competitions, Egbe said getting past the North African teams is not a mission impossible.

He equally gave thumbs up to Remo Stars who crashed out of the CAF Confederation Cup after losing 1-2 on aggregate to highly rated Moroccan side, AS Far.

In Egbe’s words…”Remo has shown that there is nothing special about the North African teams despite not making it. Remo had a good game in both legs and were only unlucky not to have progressed. I see Rivers United and the other two teams shocking their North African opponents in the next round.

“The good thing is that our teams would have found their rhythm when they are going into the next round of games. And with the draw Remo got away in Morocco, Rivers and co can hit North Africa confident of getting result.”

Egbe stressed that he is happy the clubs are also playing on fine turfs that allow them to fully express themselves.
“The era when our clubs played on bad turfs are gradually coming to an end and it gladdens my heart that Monimichelle is part of the revolution. Remo and Kwara played on a turf constructed by my outfit,” Egbe stated.

Monimichelle who spoke on the virtual interactive segment of FCT Football Updates Personality Interview said until such a time when football stakeholders will decide to join forces together to move the game forward, that the development of the game will continue to retrogress.

According to him, “disunity among our administrators is what is killing the game. Let us support whosoever that is in the position of authority and that will ensure we move forward. This idea of pull him down syndrome is really affecting the development of the game in the country “.

Continuing, the man who believes that he has the potential to administer football in Bayelsa State and beyond, said his relationship with his NFF President Amaju Pinnick is the most cordial, and that he needs the support of all Nigerians if he desires to contest for the NFF Presidency for the third time. “My relationship with Amaju Pinnick is cordial, because Amaju needs all our support to succeed as NFF President. He is free to run as NFF President for the third time, and I believe this is a project every Nigerian should key into. It will benefit us the more. Presently, he is a FIFA member and there is no how things are being discussed that Amaju will not be there to attract certain things to the country. He has attracted the FIFA goal project to Kebbi and Ogborodudu in Delta state. There are about two others that are in the offering. We must support him to get all these done. He has done well in his past two tenures, and should be encouraged to continue to hasten our infrastructural development”.

The Ajegunle born said he has never been involved in any failed projects in the country, and advised those pushing such to come out with the facts “those who said we have been involved in failed projects should come out and tell us why such projects failed and how. In all projects, there is always an issue to be sorted, and that is all. We always have cordial relationships with our clients, and nothing more ” he concluded.

“We need to invest in sustainable football infrastructures” – Monimichelle https://www.onwardnews24.com/we-need-to-invest-in-sustainable-football-infrastructures-monimichelle/ https://www.onwardnews24.com/we-need-to-invest-in-sustainable-football-infrastructures-monimichelle/#respond Wed, 16 Jun 2021 09:19:16 +0000 http://www.onwardnews24.com/?p=5515 Nigeria’s leading sports facilities construction outfit, Monimichelle has offered advice on how to fix the poor pitches in Nigeria.

Chief Executive Officer of the company, Ebi Egbe told NSM yesterday that he desired to partner with the Federal and state governments in eradicating bad pitches in the country.

“Without good pitches we will continue to produce quarterly baked players from our various leagues,” Monimichelle began during an educative conversation on WhatsApp Platform NSM.

“The world football transfer market knows Nigeria has talented young players even though we lack infrastructures for grassroot football development, that’s the reason why there is so much interest from top scouts in the Nigerian under 17 national team.

“Under 17 players are still at grooming stage, they can easily adapt to any style of play on a zero undulated properly constructed pitch.

Egbe offered advice on ways by which things can improve.

“If we have to step up our game in the global football scene we need to invest in sustainable football infrastructures.

“My dream is to move Nigeria from producing quarterly baked lads to medium-sized players from our local league,” he explained.

“I want to see a Nigerian league player move from my favourite team Enyimba to PSG not moving to one lower league for brushing up before moving to a top league.”

He reminded the forum about some of his projects and others still in the cooler.

“Mohammodu Dikko Stadium, Remo Stars Stadium, Enyimba International Stadium, Samson Siasia Stadium, Aper Aku Stadium, Onikan Stadium and Akwa Township Stadium. A host of others are coming up in Nigeria, Ghana, Gambia, Sudan and Cote d’Ivoire.

“There is no stopping for Africa transforming our bad pitches to TV friendly sustainable pitches. Rome was not built in a day, it’s a gradual process and the process has been activated,” he added.

The FIFA licensed football agent said that Monimichelle is a company that uses local content as it understands the African market, the topography and the need to put in a facility that will stand the test of time.
