Speaking during their inauguration in Abuja on Tuesday, the Minister said “The dissolution became necessary because of the expiration of your tenures.
It is also important because of the Tokyo Olympics which is less than 90 days away.

This requires that all hands are on deck because continuity is necessary to ensure preparations for the Games are not hampered in any way. The Caretaker Committees were thus specially selected to reflect our aspirations towards podium appearances at the Tokyo Olympics.”

The Minister warned that he will not hesitate to remove any Caretaker Committee that works at cross purposes with the Federations aspirations.

“It is also important for the Caretaker Committees to know that your jobs terminate immediately after the Olympics as elections into the Federations will be guided by the constitutions and the Code of Governance.

“All the Federations with qualifiers will get needed support. We don’t have all the money, but we have the commitment. Let us know what you need and we will support you all the way..”

Signed

The Federation based in Atlanta, GA will through it’s partners Sportflames Communications and GIS Sports distribute COVID-19 relief package to a total of 400 Non-League football players in the state on Thursday and Friday respectively.

Surulere Local Government Executive Chairman expressed his delight for this great initiative by NSF-USA while Head of Sports in the Council, Mr. Tajudeen Disu said the gesture was one of it’s kind as grassroots footballers were been considered for relief package in this very tough period globally.

In his words, ” I want to say a big thank you to this association and to everyone involved to make this project a reality, also for counting Surulere grassroots footballers worthy for this package, it’s indeed a sense of belonging we have giving them.

“My Chairman Hon. Ajide will be so glad receiving NSF – USA on Thursday in his office and appreciate them more, because he is also a very close friend to the Federation anytime he makes a visit to the United States.”
His colleague in Ikeja, Engr. Mojeed Balogun who’s a lover of grassroots sports said it was necessary to sport the youths at this trying time.

He expressed his delight with the initiative by NSF-USA as it’s first of its kind by any group to the area council, as the Federation is giving youth players a sense of belonging.

Balogun craved for the Federation to continue with the good work as the Council was ready to render all the support needed in making sure the packages are distributed without hitches.

NSF-USA who annually celebrates Nigeria’s Independence in diaspora with a football tournament in the United States, could not hold one this year due to the novel Coronavirus outbreak, rather channelled it resources to giving out relief package as a way of cushioning the effect of the novel Coronavirus on players in the grassroots.

Distribution of the COVID-19 relief package on Thursday (15th, October) and Friday (16th, October) at the two Local Government councils will start at 11am prompt.
