Muslim faithfuls have been admonished to imbibe the lessons of Ramadan which are highly spiritual and guidance to human existence.

The Nigeria Pillar of Sports, Chief Donatus Agu Ejidike, JP gave this admonition in his message to the Muslim faithfuls in Lagos as he described the holy month as a period of repentance , restitution and dedication to holiness.

Chief Ejidike noted that Nigeria is morally decayed and the citizens are involved in corruption practices, banditry , kidnapping and social vices which have eaten deep into the fabrics of the nation; hence the people of the country must imbibe the lessons of Ramanda if the nation must progress.

“Islam is peace; and, the Ramadan period is known as the holy month when all social vices and immoral behaviours are condemned and discouraged. It is therefore, highly imperative that we eschew all characters that are negatively affecting the development of the country.. If only we sustain the moral lessons of Ramadan, Nigeria will be a better place for living”, sounded Ejidike.

Ejidike prayed further: “May this special day bring peace, happiness and prosperity to everyone. May Allah flood our lives with happiness and peace of mind on this occasion of Eid Mubarak! May Allah accept your good deeds, forgive your transgressions and ease the suffering of all people around the globe.”

The sports philanthropist called for more prayers at this period of the nation building as he emphasized spiritual and holy behavior as stated in the Holy books

He enjoined the Muslims to use this period of celebration of Eid-fitr to seek the face of Allah for invention on the political transition as the political clouds gather.

Intercourse with wife during days of Ramadan, using Condom – Islamic Perspective: https://www.onwardnews24.com/intercourse-with-wife-during-days-of-ramadan-using-condom-islamic-perspective/ https://www.onwardnews24.com/intercourse-with-wife-during-days-of-ramadan-using-condom-islamic-perspective/#respond Fri, 07 May 2021 15:05:58 +0000 http://www.onwardnews24.com/?p=5152 Imam Nurudeen Mukhtar Isalekoto

QUESTION:
What is the ruling on one who had intercourse with his wife during the day in Ramadan, using a condom, and his wife obeyed him, on the basis of a fatwa that both the husband and wife heard from a seeker of knowledge to the effect that the condom prevents one circumcised part from touching the other, so it is not regarded as intercourse?

ANSWERED BY: Imam Nurudeen Mukhtar Isalekoto

Subuhanallah!!! Subuhanallah!!! Subuhanallah!!!

FIRSTLY:
It is haram for the fasting person to have intercourse with his wife during the day in Ramadan, either with condom or not, because Allah says in Surah Al-Baqara, Verse 187:

“It is made lawful to you to go into your wives on the night of the fast; they are an apparel for you and you are an apparel for them; Allah knew that you acted unfaithfully to yourselves, so He has turned to you (mercifully) and removed from you (this burden); so now be in contact with them and seek what Allah has ordained for you, and eat and drink until the whiteness of the day becomes distinct from the blackness of the night at dawn, then complete the fast till night, and have not contact with them while you keep to the mosques; these are the limits of Allah, so do not go near them. Thus does Allah make clear His communications for men that they may guard (against evil).” [al-Baqarah 2:187].

And Allah said in a hadith qudsi:
“He gives up his food, his drink and his desire for My sake. The fast is for Me and I shall reward for it, and a good deed brings a tenfold reward.” Narrated by al-Bukhaari (1894).

Whoever has intercourse using a condom undoubtedly fulfils his desire.

If intercourse takes place using a condom, then all the related shar‘ia rulings are applicable, namely that ghusl becomes obligatory, the fast is broken and ihram is nullified, if that happens before the first stage of exiting ihram; it is also haram to have intercourse with a menstruating woman using a condom, and this act results in taking back a revocably-divorced woman, and so on.

The fasting person should refrain from intercourse, according to scholarly consensus. Therefore it breaks the fast, even if no ejaculation occurs.

This fatwa is a mistake on the part of the one who suggested it, and it makes the fast meaningless. If a wise person reflects on this matter, it will become clear to him how reprehensible and evil this fatwa is. If someone refrains from eating and drinking, then has intercourse with his wife every day, using a condom, what kind of fasting is that?! The matter may be even worse if someone said to him that ejaculation does not invalidate the fast, so in this case he does both, intercourse and ejaculating, then he says: I am fasting!

This is a kind of nonsense that the teachings of Islam should be protected from.

If someone followed this view and had intercourse with a woman who is not his wife, and says that he did not commit zina because intercourse did not take place, what would this mufti say to him?

Hence no attention should be paid to the notion that penetration is not regarded as intercourse if a barrier (condom) is used, regardless of whoever among the fuqaha’ says that, especially with these thin barriers (condom) that do not prevent pleasure, so they are not like wrapping a piece of cloth around the penis as mentioned by the fuqaha’.

SECONDLY:
Fatwas can only be taken from those who are qualified to give them. Hence the one who has done this thing must do the following:

Repent to Allah, from having committed this unlawful action.

Make up that day’s fast which he invalidated by having intercourse.

Offer expiation (kafaarah), by manumitting a slave; if that is not possible, he must fast for two consecutive months; if he is not able to do that, then he must feed sixty poor persons. It makes no difference whether he ejaculated or did not.

In al-Mawsoo‘ah al-Fiqhiyyah (35/55) it says: There is no difference of opinion among the fuqaha’ regarding the fact that it is obligatory to offer expiation for one who had intercourse during the day in Ramadan, deliberately, with no excuse, regardless of whether he ejaculated or not. End quote.

Almighty Allah knows best.

Who are the families of Almighty ALLAH among people? https://www.onwardnews24.com/who-are-the-families-of-almighty-allah-among-people/ https://www.onwardnews24.com/who-are-the-families-of-almighty-allah-among-people/#respond Thu, 29 Apr 2021 21:54:55 +0000 http://www.onwardnews24.com/?p=5022 By: Imam Nurudeen Mukhtar Isalekoto

We are in the month of the Holy Qur’an, the month of Ramadan or the month of fasting and devotion to the Almighty Allah.

The month of Ramadan is a month of the Holy Qur’an as we all know. It’s the month in which the Holy Qur’an was first revealed to prophet Muhammad (saw). That’s why we all try our best to read the Holy Qur’an in Ramadan as many times as we can.

But the question is, how committed are you to the Holy Qur’an even before the arrival of this month of Ramadan?

If you are someone who doesn’t read the Holy Qur’an but only in the Ramadan, then you are missing something big of rewards from ALLAH.

In Hadith, ROSULULLAH (saw) said:

(لله عز وجل من الناس اهلون، قيل ومن هم يا رسول الله: قال اهل القران، هم اهل الله وخاصته)

ALLAH exalted He is, has family (chosen people) among people. The companions asked: O’ the messenger of ALLAH, who are the family of ALLAH among people?

And He said: they are the people of the Holy Qur’an. Those who always read the Holy Qur’an, they are special people (like a family) to ALLAH.

Won’t you be the most happiest person on earth to be classified as a family member of ALLAH because of your commitments to the Holy Qur’an?

If you have not started reading and learning the Holy Qur’an, it’s not too late to be among the special people of ALLAH. Read the Holy Qur’an, because that’s the whole of Islam and it’s a guidance to mankind.

May Almighty Allah use the blessing of this Ramadan to clear up the contaminated pandemic that is killing people all over the world, kidnapping, rapping, killing and many more difficulties that we are facing in Nigeria.

In a bid to provide succour for Muslim Umah during this fasting period, the Kogi State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Hajia Fatima Kabir Buba has donated food stuffs to 10 wards in Lokoja Local Government Area of the State.

Hajia Buba who donated the food stuffs to the 10 wards in Lokoja on Saturday urged Muslims to imbibe the virtues of Ramadan fast which are love, peace and forgiveness.

The Kogi Women Commissioner who reiterated her commitment to always provide for the needy emphasized that alms giving during Ramadan fast is considered one of the most admonished good deeds in Islam.

She stressed the need to always give back to the society adding that almighty Allah will use this period to bring smiles in the faces of Nigerians.

” This world would being a better place for all if only everyone takes from the little they have to help those in dear need in the society.

“You know that zakat, is the Third Pillar of Islam, a major teaching. Being charitable and providing for the needy are important features of the Muslim character. Why is charity so important?

“The existence of countless starving, poor, hungry individuals in the world points to the need for this essential teaching to be put into practice.

” Affluent Muslims may not realize how their wealth could strengthen whole communities. Giving charity correctly is crucial to both the well-being of the needy as well as the ultimate happiness of the wealthy. The Prophet emphasized this principle repeatedly.

“You know that zakat, or charity, is the Third Pillar of Islam, a major teaching. Being charitable and providing for the needy are important features of the Muslim character. Why is charity so important?

“The existence of countless starving, poor, hungry and destitute Muslims and non-Muslims in the world points to the need for this essential teaching to be put into practice.

” Affluent Muslims may not realize how their wealth could strengthen whole communities. Giving charity correctly is crucial to both the well-being of the needy as well as the ultimate happiness of the wealthy. The Prophet emphasized this principle repeatedly.

“The Prophet said: “Your smile for your brother is a charity. Your removal of stones, thorns or bones from the paths of people is a charity. Your guidance of a person who is lost is a charity.” (Bukhari) Another Hadith illustrates the importance of every part of a person’s body performing a charity:

“A charity is due for every joint in each person on every day the sun comes up: to act justly between two people is a charity; to help a man with his mount, lifting him onto it or hoisting up his belongings onto it, is a charity; a good word is a charity; and removing a harmful thing from the road is a charity.” (Al-Bukhari, Muslim)

“A Protection From Calamity
By sacrificing part of one’s wealth and giving it in charity, the individual is guaranteeing protection for themselves from tragedy and misfortune. The Prophet said: “Give charity without delay, for it stands in the way of calamity.” (Al-Tirmidhi).

“Charity serves as a way to bring justice, balance and kindness to every society and community. It is our hope that the Muslim community fulfills their charitable duty correctly and does their part to eliminating poverty in communities everywhere” She explained.

She however admonished Muslims to use this fasting period to pray for the peace of Nigeria amidst the current challenges.

Some of the beneficiaries appreciated the kind gestures of Hajia Fatima Kabir Buba praying that God will sustain and keep her alive to do more for his people.

” This is not the first time you are bringing smiles to our faces in the midst of hardship. As you continue to be a good ambassador of the Muslim fate, almighty Allah will protect and replenish your pocket” They prayed.
