Dino Sporting Club CEO, Samuel Columbus Omomafe on Saturday received an award of excellence from the Ogun State Football Association.

According to the OGSFA led by board member of Nigeria Football Federation, Alhaji Ganiyu Majekodunmi, the recognition came as a result of the Dino SC boss’ immense contributions to the development football in the state and country at large.

Mr Omomafe, a seasoned grassroot football administration is known for his dedication and passion to the round leather game.

He has organized various grassroot football competition for youngsters all over the state, with international scouts in attendance.

He has also helped many players achieved their dream of playing professional football at any club of their choice in Europe.

“I’m really happy and honored to receive this awar,”

“Sometimes I’m a bit shy, but I’m really happy to do what I can do for my people to make things better and also contribute my qouta to the growth of these players and football at large,

“To be recognized by the FA means we are doing something right, and I can assure you, we won’t rest on our oars.” He said.

He presides over Dino Sporting Club, one of the fastest rising football clubs in Nigeria, and the current Creative Championship League Cup holders.

The Club is also rated as the 2nd best in the Creative Championship League, behind Beyond Limits.

The President of Dino Sporting Club, Samuel Omamofe Columbus believes his boys’ exploit will be better in 2023 when The Creative Championship League and cup tournament returns.

Omamofe Columbus in an interview with the Club’s media team on Thursday revealed that the 2022 Calendar year has been quite challenging due to the rebuilding process currently ongoing in the club.

The football administrator admitted that football is a continuum, adding that there’s a need to always continue with the process.

He said “The team has not done so well so far this year in the league and also in the cup generally but its no surprise, we have a new team and we are still in the process of building
It’s difficult when you building again”

“But all the same the game must go on”

When the league returns in the new year, Dino SC, champions in the Cup competition will hope to reignite the spark which saw them claim the Cup competition at the expense of Beyond Limits football academy last season.

Call it a revenge match between Valiant FC and Dino Sporting Club on Sunday, you are not mistaken as result reflected that.

It was a masterclass performance for Dino SC as they recorded a commanding 4-2 win at Valiant FC in the Matchday 11 of The Creative Championship, TCC League.

Recall Dino had lost at home to Valiant in the reverse fixture fortnight ago as the same venue.

The boys of Coach Godwin Gibson upped their game in the match played at the Dipo Dina Stadium, Ijebu Ode, thanks to hat trick from Hyacinth Ogonna for Dino.

Daneil Effiong is the other goal scorer for Dino SC to record their fourth win of the season and accrued 15 points from 11 games.

A brace from Abiodun Toheeb for Valiant were rendered as consolation.

It is expected that the latest victory will put Dino back to their usual form.

A fine strike from Daniel Effiong in the 47th minute proved more than enough for Dino SC, to earn another victory over the hosts in style.

However, followers of the league have continued to discus the impact of Kator Orjime had after his Man of the Match display.

Kator Orjime was the brightest star on parade as Dino Sporting Club ended poor run of results with the slim victory.

Orjime had a splendid outing and was unplayable against the Lagos based Gbagada FC at the Otunba Dipo Dina Stadium.

Dino SC came into the game hovering dangerously around the bottom of the log, having won just once from last five games.

The Coach Godwin Gibson’s men needed someone to step up against stubborn a Gbagada and Orjime was man who ran the show and took the fight to the victors.

Orjime is considered to be one of the best players in the Creative Championship League.

In fact, he is the footballer who won the heart of the fans and it wasn’t shocking when he was awarded the player of the match award on Saturday.

Orjime’s influence at Dino SC is obvious. He has shone regularly for the TCC Cup holders this season and Coach Godwin Gibson will be banking on him to deliver another masterclass against Iganmu Tigers FC come Wednesday.

However the boys will the aiming to banish the ghosts of defeats and return to winning ways when they welcome the Blue Eagles of Gbagada in their TCC MatchDay 7 fixture.

Hovering dangerously around the bottom of the log, Coach Godwin Gibson’s men have managed only one win in their last five outings.

The problem with team seems to be defending, rather than goal-scoring.

They have scored in four of their last five games, but they are paying for failing to shutout their opponents.

In addition, they have kept just one clean sheet all season long, and have shipped in 11 goals in their current TCC campaign.

At home this weekend, they have to tackle a Gbagada team that bounced back to winning ways last week – against Valiant.

The Blue Eagles may just have momentum on their side going into this game.

However, the TCC Cup holders will be hoping for a good day in front of their home crowd… and maximum points to crown a good day’s work at the office.

Dino Sporing Club returned to winning ways with a commanding 2-0 away win over Atlantic Business FC in the Matchday 4 of The Creative Championship League clash on Sunday.

The match decided at the Legacy Pitch in Lagos had victory written over it for Atlantic Business who have had a blistering run to the season, but had other plans heading to the game.

The Coach Godwin led Dino side knew a defeat in Lagos would spell doom for them and would dampen their title ambition having lost two of the first three games to the season.

Both sides started well with creating positive chances to get ahead but it was Dino who took early lead when Isaac Ashiekaa finished up a good run with a perfect goal.

Atlantic forced their way to the game as they pegged Dino back to their half but could find the cutting edge till both sides headed to locker room at half time.

Dino did not waste time to secure their first win on the road and handed Atlantic their first loss of the season as they scored the second goal from their hit man, Hyacinth Ogbonna with a perfect finish.

The hosts threw all the had into the remaining parts of the game to stage a comeback but Dino were more determined, not only to get the win but to boost their confidence with a clean sheet.

The result will however bring back Dino to reckoning as they aim to challenge Beyond Limit for the title this season.

After their disappointing Matchday Two defeat, Dino Sporting Club are set to get back to winning ways as they host Iganmu United on Sunday. 

The encounter billed for Dipo Dina Stadium, Ijebu Ode is one of Matchday Three fixtures of the Creative Championship TCC League.

The start to the new season looks similar for both sides, only that Iganmu are yet to win a game after two outings, but both clubs have tasted defeats already.

Dino went a man down in the early minutes of their defeat at Dannaz but they still fought hard to keep the scoreline close. As for Iganmu, they failed to score against Beyond Limits in Ikenne but managed to score against Gbagada in their previous outing.

Dino are usually strong at home and will be looking to bank on that form to edge their visitors on Sunday. To back this up, every meeting between the two sides has ended with the home side winning.

With that being said, Dino will be seeking to return to winning ways, while Iganmu will be eyeing their first win of the season when they meet on Sunday.

The electric winger got his first goal of the season against Imperial at home and here’s another fixture in which he can show his class.

The match tagged ‘Ogun derby’ played at the Otunba Dipo Dina Stadium saw the TCC Cup holders scored in each half to take the three points at stake.

The visitors took a shock lead inside the opening 9th minute, when Billiaminu Abdullah shoot past Dino SC goalkeeper Gideon Edeh.

Imperial’s lead however lasted for only seven minutes as Stanley Ogbonna restored the parity for Dino SC.

The coach Godwin Gibson boys completed the turn around in the second half, thanks to goal from talisman Hyacinth Ogonna.

The last season’s runner up held on to their lead untill the final whistle.

The Creative Championship regular football season has ended with Beyond Limits winning the league and Dino Sporting Club claiming the Cup.

But the memories of the just concluded season would continue to linger on, notably for clubs like Dino SC.

The young team assembled by Coach Godwin Gibson started the regular season on a low but picked themselves up through it and became a strong contenders for the title.

The Boys of Samuel Columbus were among the best teams both in the TCC League and the Cup competition.

Dino SC made a remarkable history in the just concluded season with memorable statistics.

They recorded more away wins (6) in the just concluded Creative Championship League, same with the eventual league winners, Beyond Limits and Dannaz FC.

Dino only dropped six points at home which translated to three home draws in the regular season.

Coach Godwin Gibson is looking forward to another exciting season with Dino as he expect to build a more stronger team that can compete and wrestle the title with Beyond Limits.

Dino Sporting Club finished the TCC League second with 34 points, eleven behind the winners Beyond Limits.

They would then gone on to win the TCC Cup by beating Beyond Limits 2-1 in the final, even with ten men.

A goal in each half from Ikechukwu Friday and Okiemute Adagharagba ensured Dino Sporting Club defeated Dannaz FC by 2-0 on Sunday and will see them finish the Creative Championship, TCC League as runners up for second successive season.

The victory at the Legacy Pitch in Lagos capped a brilliant season for Dino who had experienced a difficult start to the TCC League but rallied to went eight and five unbeaten at different occasions.

The last time both sides met Dannaz stole the win with a 1-0 result.
Dino returned the favor this time and picked the important three points to finish second place, behind back to back champions, Beyond Limits.

Coach Gibson’s side will remember this one as memorable one where they climbed out of the ‘trenches’ and roared their way to the top.

With a game to spare, Dino won’t mind to bother on the fixture following the victory at Dannaz as they already have 34 points, one above Gbagada FC who have completed their season on Saturday following a 1-1 draw at Atlantic Business.
