Amapro Football Championship: Teams head into quarter- finals in quest for Silverware

Much need not be said about the 5th edition of Amapro Football Championship as it continues to gather momentum with all its quarter-finals encounters coming up on Friday, 6th of November.

The last 8 stage of the Championship will see Pro-leaguers launching a contest against NPFL All Stars at 8am while Ajaokuta FA will be taking on Non-Leaguers in another encounter at 10am.

La Planet SA will continue their impressive run in the tournament as they host NLO All Stars at 2pm and for Jazzy Stars, they will be disposing their best against ABS Ilorin FC at exactly 4pm also tomorrow.

Ebere Eugene of Ejele FA continue to lead the packs in the goal chart with 5 goals. Ebenezer Odeyemi of Pro-leaguers had 4 to his credit while Atoe Emmanuel of ABS FC is following him with 3 goals in the stand.

Shogo Shodunke, the CEO of Phreestyle Sports and organizer of the tournament relished the performances of the teams in the group stage as an endearing one adding that this year’s edition is one of the most keenly contested tourney.

The tourney with over 400 players has witnessed clashes where caution triumphed over risk, strategy over creativity and defence over attack. What more from the initiative which aims to close the wide gap between the professional and grassroots players.

So far, 79 goals have been recorded from 23 games played in the championship. Such is a distinct hallmark of a scouting platform combined with the high sense from preparedness of the participating teams.

All the quarter-final matches will be played at Kwara Football Academy playing ground.
