Amupitan congratulates Adeyemi, Says Kogi West Will Be Better Going Forward

The Kogi State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Hon. Bolanle Amupitan has congratulated Distinguished Senator Smart Adeyemi, for his resounding victory at the Kogi West Senatorial rerun election on Saturday.

The the returning officer, Prof. Olajide Lawal, announced on Saturday announced that Adeyemi polled 88,373 votes to defeat the candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dino Melaye who scored 62,133 votes.

A press statement by Amupitan on Monday in Lokoja, described the victory as well deserved, while assuring the people that Kogi West would be better for it going forward under Distinguished Sen. Adeyemi.

”Let me borrow from the word of my principal, His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, who said: ‘my concerns going into this Election is not about winning, but about the margin of wins’.

”Therefore, I knew your victory was sure, what was not too sure was the margin of wins.

”To this victory, I join the good people of Kogi West, the State at large and the entire country to CONGRATULATE Distinguished Senator Adeyemi Smart on this well deserved victory.

”Kogi West will be better for it going forward, because your wealth of experience as lawmaker and journalist, would go a long way to bringing meaningful democratic dividends to the good people of Kogi west,” the Commissioner said.

Amuputan, therefore commended the good people of Kogi west for their overwhelming support for the newly elected Senator, the Governor and the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC).
