Akwa United players and officials have been admonished to get God involved in all they do in order to achieve good success in their plans and aspirations.

” It is the divine will of God that all His children should be successful in life but to achieve such success, one must be obedient to God as well as being truthful and honest in all his or her dealings with others”

The message was delivered by Pastor Henry Udoh, the Clergy in charge of Redeemed Christian Church of God, Heaven’s Gate Parish.

Pastor Udoh gave the charge while giving exhortation at Akwa United’s weekly Fasting and Prayer session on Friday 12th June 2020 at the club’s conference room.

The man of God who took his Bible readings from Psalm 91:5-9 and Deuteronomy chapter 28:1-13 urged staff and players of the team to always remain steadfast and be committed to their chosen careers while showing gratitude to God for His love and blessings upon their lives.

“Once you involve God in your affairs, His divine presence will strengthen you for any task and you will overcome every form of fear. God our Father knows your strength and weaknesses, all what you need is to be courageous, committed, determined and focused while trusting God to reward your efforts with good success.

“People always forget the source of their success, but let me advise us, don’t ever stop thanking God for who you are and for the grace He has given you to achieve success. Reverence God with all your heart and give Him thanks and you will enjoy success on all fronts”. Pastor Udoh assured

Addressing the players and officials, the club Chairman Elder Paul Bassey said it was necessary for the club to fast and pray together following the lifting of ban on religious gathering in the state.

“I wish to sincerely thank God for another wonderful opportunity for us to fast and pray as a family. I’m grateful to God that despite the threat posed by coronavirus, we have not received any bad news concerning any member of this club, and that is why we are expressing appreciation to God for his love, mercies and protection.

“Gentlemen, the uncertainty surrounding the conclusion of the 2019/2020 NPFL season should not in any way deter us from taking our personal trainings seriously even while we are at home.

“Concerning the 2019/2020 NPFL season, one thing is certain; the league is only suspended but not yet concluded. So we have to be fully prepared and ready while waiting to hear from the league organisers” the club boss advised.

The fasting and prayer session featured hymns, praise and worship, as well as ministration of the Word and intersesory prayers for individuals, families, Akwa United FC, Akwa Ibom State and the Nation.

Some officials and players like coach Kennedy Boboye, Captain Otobong Effiong, Etboy Akpan, Wilson Elu, Morice Chukwu, Michael Ohanu amongst other who were unable to physically attend the fasting and prayer session however joined live via Zoom.
