Confluence Queens brush aside Naija Ratels in friendly, wrap up Abuja preseason tour

2018-2019 Nigeria Women Football League, NWFL Premiership Runners-Up, Confluence Queens defeated NWFL Championship side, Naija Ratels 3-1 in their final Pre-Season game on their Abuja Tour on Monday, www.kick442.com reports.

Goals from Esther Kanu, Adoo Yina, and Aweda Titilayo propelled the Kogi based side to victory over the Bankole Olowookere tutored side.

The team is expected to return to Kogi State to further prepare for the 2020-2021 NWFL Premiership season which will kick off on Wednesday, December 9, 2020.

Confluence Queens could not progress from the group stage at the just concluded Flying Officers Cup in Abuja after finishing their group with four points from three games, behind eventual winners, Bayelsa Queens and Runners-Up, Nasarawa Amazons.


The Club player, Joy Omewa finished as the highest goal scorer at the Flying Officer’s Cup organized in honour of late Kogi born first Nigeria female Helicopter Pilot Tolulope Arotile.

The Whyte Ogbonda led side according to the Team Manager, Tosin Olorunleke Ojo, recently acquired the services of two players ahead of the upcoming season. A goalkeeper and a striker were signed from Sunshine Queens and Ibom Angels respectively in a bid to solidify the team.
