Kwara FA pledges to Curb Street Begging through para-soccer

The Kwara State Football Association has said it will assist in eradicating poverty by empowering Para-soccer players in the state.

Chairman of the Association, Malam Idris Musa Abdullahi made the pledge when he met with the state Para- Soccer players on Thursday in Ilorin, where he disclosed that his led board will explore all possible means to provide the needed support.

He noted that the objective behind the mission is to empower the players by assisting in getting wages or allowances through active engagement in Para Soccer and if Possible, put them in some vocational activities which will take them away from street begging and also reduce violence in the society.

While assuring the players of the association Support, Malam Idris disclosed that his board will  assist in seeking sponsorship for them  as well  as a suitable training ground for the team to carry out it’s activities in the foreseable future.

Jamiu Mogaji, who led the team, appreciated Malam Idris Musa for operating an open door Policy and pinpointed the sacrifice the team has made in attending various competitions with little or no financial support.

He confirmed majority of the players are bread winners but turned to the streets to feed their families and pay rents which has not been easy as he called on the FA together with the Kwara state government to provide the needed encouragement morally,
physically and financially, which is the most important.
