Nigeria in recent times seems to have been blessed with a plethora of next generation of promising young talents.

Their exploits across the globe have not gone unnoticed.

Moses Simon was recently rewarded for his outstanding and impact contributions with Nantes in the season that was untimely ended in France due to the Covid 19 Pandemic.

The French side then rewarded the Nigerian Winger and product of GBS, Jos with a four years contract.

Another French based Nigerian footballer, Victor Osimhen who only a couple of days ago buried his Father, Patrick Osimhen in Lagos also emerged as Player of the Season for Lille having scored 13 goals in the French Championnat for Lille and has now been linked with Napoli and a number of other European elite clubs including Tottenham and Arsenal of England.

Newly invited Dutch Born Nigerian Cyriel Dessers was recently snapped up by Gent FC of Belgium while former Nigerian U-23 star, Sadiq Umar who starred in the 2016 Rio Olympics had a brilliant season with Partizan Belgrade and has been linked to not less than 26 clubs.

Then there is a certain Mbachu Ndubuisi John who although is little known but fast rising and making waves in North Africa with Egyptian second division club, SOHAG SPORTING CLUB.

Before a lot of leagues across the world including the Egyptian second division league was halted by the Coronavirus Pandemic which has disrupted activities in the global space, Mbachu Ndubuisi John was already on a high scoring a total of 7 goals in 13 appearances and has thus attracted interests and enquiries from a number of Top clubs in the Egyptian premier league and other Northern Africans league as well as from various clubs in Europe but then sadly, the Coronavirus Pandemic happened and that has slightly slowed down interests on this young Nigerian goal poacher but this exciting young lad who has had stints with a number of clubs including GOMHORIA SHEEBEN SC, another second division side in Egypt, Moussou FC of Ivory Coast, Beitar Tobruk Netanya of Israel is not given up on his dreams of playing for a Top European side as quickly as possible.

John speaking with this news platform said his dreams of playing in Europe is still very much alive and his exploits in the season that has now been cancelled has led to a number of European clubs making enquiries on him.

He was however cautious in disclosing if there was a valid interests from a premier league club in Europe or from any European side.

In his words, he said ‘’I am very much keen on moving to Europe. I have already experienced a phase of my career here in Africa. I have played in Ivory Coast with Moussou FC, I have also played with Gomhoria Sheeben where I also gave my best and I have had a good season with Sohag Sporting SC, I think it is now time to make the big leap to Europe. I am 23 years now and I believe I am at a point in my career where I need to be more in the limelight. My dream is to soon play and represent the Super Eagles and I also hope if I get to play in Europe and get to play champions league football, it will in turn help my course of getting recognition by the Super Eagles handlers and I can possibly get invited to wear the colours of Nigeria’s Super Eagles.
“For now I still have a valid contract with SOHAG SPORTING CLUB and why there are a number of enquiries and interests from a number of clubs in North Africa and Europe, I still have a valid contract with my club but I believe as soon as my club receives an official interest and it appears fair enough for my club and also meet my personal demands, then I will be prepared to take that leap forward’’

Mbachu, no doubt is one of Nigeria’s bright prospect and it is only a matter of time for this Nigeria’s prodigious talent to start hitting more headlines. No doubt Nigeria has a golden generation fast unfolding before our very eyes.
