Monetization of elections in Ado-Odo Ota LGA by political desperadoes

Again! We are at the crossroads to another Democratic dispensation where our destinies and the fate of this country will either be trampled on or be raised above.

Every electionering period has its own dimension and if ours is still being decided by money, it speaks a doom to the future of this country; for the umpteenth time.

Political desperadoes would always find a way to deceive the citizens and secure the mandate after which all they will jettison their trust.

In the light of the above submission comes to mind the shenanigans of Honourable member of House Representative, Hon. Jimoh Ojugbele representing the good people of Ado-Odo/Ota Federal constituency at Green chamber in Abuja.

Ojugbele in his desperate move to secure his return ticket to the National Assembly for the fourth time has squandered N700 million Constituency fund meant to deliver the dividends of democracy to his constituents.

Alas! Hon. Jimoh has not only squandered the constituency fund, he has in his desperate move bribed some notable leaders within his constituency and the state up to the tune of N5,000,000 each in order to compromise the primary process by moving the voting centre of APC primary election from Ota to Ado-Odo.

The Honourable has also with evidence induced the delegates with 1000 dollars each and a brand new motorcycle to get their vote. What an extravagant and unholy way to get people trust, which some of the delegates still stand by the truth and voted him out by not giving him their mandate.

In this part of the world where some jester like Ojugbele has turned electoral process to highest bidder, but majority of delegates from his constituency prove him wrong.

One would wonder why Honourable Ojugbele is so bent on securing his return by squandering the Constituency fund meant to deliver the dividends of democracy to the people.

It’s logical that he might not have encountered any difficulty in going back to the National Assembly if he had done the right thing.

At this juncture, it’s important that party delegates and stakeholders be wary of all these moves by Honorable Ojugbele who hasn’t given the consituents reasons to return him back to the National Assembly.

We must, for the sake of the future of the unborn generation and our country reject people like Honourable Ojugbele to represent or lead us. We need to make the right choice. We must not sell our future and that of our country to desperadoes. A stitch in time they says saves the Nine.
