NSCDC Cooperative in Kogi Offers Cars, Essential Commodities To Members

The Cooperative Investment & Credit Society of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), Kogi State Command, on Tuesday gave 10 Pleasure cars, essential goods and commodities on loans, to some interested members of the cooperative.

The items were handed over to the beneficiaries during the Commissioning ceremony on Tuesday at NSCDC office, Kogi State Command.

In his remarks, Mr Monday Janagwu, the President of the cooperative, thanked members for their support, cooperation, endurance and understanding.

He noted that the current executive of the cooperative under his leadership, had been able to achieve three out of their seven-point agenda within the last 105 days of assumption of office.

”Today, 10 Automobile pleasure cars are here to be given to the interested cooperators on loan; more are coming by the grace of God.

”We promised granting of Conventional and Emergency loans to our cooperators in needs, and reactivation of some of the COOPS abandoned projects, neglected schemes and recovering of all cooperative money”, he said.

Janagwu stressed that they had reactivated the neglected scheme on Entitlement to Retirees of the NSCDC Corps and effective members of the COOPS, who had served meritoriously with impacts.

He added that other highly essential goods and commodities such as rice, oils, television, refrigerator among others, were also provided for cooperators on loans, to ease the Christmas and end of the year celebrations.

Speaking, the NSCDC Kogi State Commandant, Commandant Peter Maigari, who commissioned the items, said he was impressed with the achievements of the cooperative’s executive within their few months in office.

Maigari, who doubles as the Patron of the cooperative, urged the beneficiaries to make good use of the items and not to sell them.

The commandant further enjoined the cooperative members and executive to always abide by the government’s regulations and guidelines on obtaining loans.

One of the beneficiaries who got a Toyota Corolla car, Barr. Eleojo Onu, the OC Legal Kogi NSCDC, said he was very happy to be part of the beneficiaries, and thanked the commandant and the cooperative president for the gesture.
