…lauds Gov. Abdulrasaq’s leadership style

A member of the Kwara State House of Assembly representing Lanwa/Ejidongari constituency who also double as the Deputy House Leader, Hon Olanrewaju Bello has describes the present Kwara House of Assembly as a viable one.

Bello stated this during a briefing with newsmen in his office, recently.

According to him,’the State has witnessed a viable House of Assembly in the recent time under the leadership of the speaker, Hon. Yakubu Danlade .

“Kwara State House of Assembly leadership is viable. The speaker is young and viable. He has carried everyone along in the discharge of the house core duties.

“So far since the inception of this house, we have presented not less down 10 bills now alongside some other emergency calls too which are not less down 30,” he said.

He added that the reason why the  Kwara State House of Assembly were able male a landmine achievement is owing to the exemplary leadership style of the Kwara State Governor, Mall. AbdulRahaman AbdulRasaq.

“What we had in the state now is a total deviation from the hitherto norms the state was known for. What is in vogue now under the leadership of Governor AbdulRahaman AbdulRasaq is an all-inclusive government where there is a sense of belonging.

“Aparantly this exactly is what transpired into the  leadership system we had at the State House of Assembly where the core mandate to make laws under a coherent and all-inclusive representation was the order of the day.”

Bello further lauded the measure puts in place by the Kwara State Government to curtail the scourge of Covid-19 in the state.

“I think the Governor has done well. Even when we have not had the any index cases in the state, he makes sure that oxygen are put in place towards the curtailments of the pandemics,” he said.

He berates the partial noncompliance of the people of the state to the lockdown order put in place by the government.

“When we say lockdown, it means stay at home. But it seems people do not know the implication of the order. We pray that the pandemic will be minimize, but we have to be very careful.”

The Deputy Leader however describes his election into the Kwara State House of Assembly as a fulfilled one having lost his first trials attempt at the polls.

” Yes. I was once a councillor for my ward which is Jebba ward and in 2015 I contested to the House of Assembly, I lost.

“But bowing to the pressure from my people who are desirous to see me represent them, I had to put myself forward for election again. I had a large votes. I garnered over 9,000 votes at the expense of my counterpart who posed 2,000 votes.

“I’m fulfilled because what I have in mind has stated manifesting now. My people have been neglected for over 30 years now despite they puts forward representative since.

” Since I assumed office, I have drilled up to seven boreholes and over 100 ones have been repaired in my constituency now. 

“I have lots of students I sponsored at the university and many indigents students were on my payroll aside people one medical bills.

” Our water projects has started in Jebba now. We just seated besides water in Jebba, but no water. So the governor has ordered that the water project started in Jebba,” Bello stressed.
